ICAHD is a non-violent, direct-action group originally established to oppose and resist Israeli demolition of Palestinian houses. It is comprised of members of many Israeli peace and human rights organizations and works closely with local Palestinian organizations.

The Experience in Latin America and its Relation to the Situation in Palestine
On Feb 6 2007, the Alternative Information Center (AIC) and the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions (ICAHD), jointly hosted a lecture by Judge Juan Guzman at the Ambassador Hotel in East Jerusalem. Judge Guzman is a retired Chilean judge who became internationally famous for being the first judge to prosecute former Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet on human rights charges, after Pinochet’s return to Chile following more than a year of house arrest in London, England. He spoke together with Israeli Human Rights Lawyer, Lea Tsemel on “International Legal Solutions for War Crimes and Human Rights Violations: The Experience in Latin America and its Relation to the Situation in Palestine.”
